Hello Fresh Social Media Presence

Hello Fresh is a meal kit company that sends you ready to make meals. Customers are given the ability to customize the number of meals they want, the serving sizes, and the dietary restrictions that need to be met. All of the ingredients are packaged individually and in the correct portion size. All the user has to do is follow the recipe and put all the ingredients together! It allows people to still feel like they are cooking and making a homecooked meal without grocery shopping and meal prep. In addition, the recipes are typically less than 30 minutes. It is a very easy way of making a homecooked meal for a busy family or an ambitious individual.

Hello Fresh has an impressive and large online social media presence. They are only nearly every social media platform and heavily advertise on them. They have a Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram account with a collective following of over 2.3 million people. They also make sure to keep their following up to date by sharing a photo, status, or update nearly every single day about the different meals you can order, deals available, and partnerships they have ongoing. Hello Fresh also replies to comments left by customers and users on Twitter and Facebook so people feel like their compliments, complaints, and concerns are heard and directed to customer service if needed. These conversations, although short, can help Hello Fresh retain angry customers.

Hello Fresh utilizes a large amount of influencers and bloggers on Instagram as #hellofreshpartners to help grow their marketing and advertising efforts. They partner with users who have a reputation and following with people of similar target audiences to Hello Fresh to help promote. This has helped grow Hello Fresh’s customer base. Customers are able to form an identity with Hello Fresh by posting photos of their meals. The food looks appetizing and aesthetically pleasing, causing people to wish to share photos of their food. Hello Fresh has successfully capitalized on this by starting the hashtag #hellofreshpics that invites users to post pictures of their homecooked meals. On Instagram, there is even a FreshFam highlight that features customers and the meals they have made to form a group and community around their users.

Twitter: Hello Fresh posts nearly every day, have their partnership on their banner, have a link in their bio for $25 off, the meals they advertise are for thanksgiving, post pictures with the food, pick your fave of the week, and post videos. Since Twitter is a more diverse platform, they are able to use it to satisfy more needs of the company and reach customers in a greater way. They also reply to users about both happy and angry comments.

Facebook: Their Facebook page is utilized in a similar fashion to Instagram in that most of their status posts are posted with a video or picture. A large difference though is that they do not post every day and they often include links to their website. This is because most people do not like to be spammed daily on Facebook since it is more of a platform you post on for large announcements. Also, most people view Facebook on their laptops or computers and it is easier to click on a link to be viewed on a separate website.

Instagram: Hello Fresh has a fantastic Instagram with beautiful pictures of food and stories that talk further about their company. They solely post photos of their food and new things they’re coming out with.

YouTube: Hello Fresh surprisingly does not have a YouTube page. this could be a very strategic move for the company. They could post videos of them making the different meals that could serve as advertisements for the company. However, many of Hello Fresh’s customers have posted on YouTube.
The company relies heavily on people spreading the word and signing up for it as their main marketing stream. They give away meals for free the first few times people use it. They offer codes all the time to get people to receive a free meal and hopefully like it. When this customer reviewed Hello Fresh, she made sure to post her own coupon code for new users to receive $40 off on their first box. By posting this to her contact list, she is expanding Hello Fresh’s reach. In addition, by sharing her code, she will also receive a discount.

App: Hello Fresh even has an app that allows customers to view meals off of and order from! This provides customers with ease of use. They can select all of their preferences on it and even schedule delivery times that fit their schedule. The app, however, only provides utility if you are a customer of Hello Fresh. Otherwise, it would be useless to have it.Hello Fresh has a large online presence spanning across all major social media platforms. They have used the power of social media to productively grow their following. The company is less than 8 years old and has already seen tremendous success! Hello Fresh is the perfect example of how using social media can help a company flourish.
